Who I am

/about

I started out as a university professor teaching computer engineering in the Philippines, then moved to a support desk at Hewlett-Packard. In 2011 I moved to Singapore and spent four years running a company’s servers, network and virtualisation by myself, then leading the team that did.

From there it was the cloud: a first AWS disaster-recovery site, regulated workloads moved to Azure and AWS, and seven government agencies taken onto the Government Commercial Cloud. Along the way I built CI/CD platforms from nothing and learned to design for the 3am call.

Now I lead reliability for a platform serving customers across Asia and Africa, and I’m building agentic SRE: AI agents that take routine operations off the on-call rota. I work by AI-directed engineering: I set the direction and the guardrails, AI agents write the code, and I review what ships. At home I run hive, a GitOps-managed Kubernetes lab that hosts this site.

2023 – now Director, Site Reliability EngineeringPrudential Services Singapore 30 engineers Own the platform architecture and roadmap on GCP; set the SRE operating model; one paved road to production on GitHub Actions + Argo CD; building agentic SRE.

2022 – 2023 Senior DevOps & SRE EngineerSmartCow AI Technologies 2 AI products Owned SRE for a machine-learning platform and an edge-device fleet hub. Stabilised both and automated releases.

Leadership & agentic SRE→

2020 – 2022 Solutions ArchitectPrudential Services Singapore from scratch Re-architected the financial-crime (AML) platform in Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell. Built the regional Jenkins CI/CD platform.

2019 – 2020 Principal Cloud ArchitectNEC Asia Pacific 7 agencies AWS and Azure lead for moving Singapore government workloads to GCC, built as code to public-sector standards.
